Country star Billy Ray Cyrus is turning his biggest hit “Achy Breaky Heart” into a a hip-hop song. Yes, really. Like a wrecking ball, Cyrus broke the news to legendary chat show host Larry King early New Years Eve. The news, mentioned by King via his Twitter account, seemed to be exciting to both parties.
The song, originally released in 1992, peaked at number three in the U.K. and number four on the US Hot 100. To date, “Achy Breaky Heart” remains the country singer’s biggest hit, while his attention in recent years has been on acting and seeing his daughter Miley rise to international stardom.
Back in August, Billy Ray stepped in to defend his daughter’s controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance. Hopefully 2014 (and critics) will be kind to the singer.
