According to Variety, Helen Bonham Carter is in talks to co-star with Carey Mulligan in Sarah Gavron’s Suffragette.
This period film is based on true events about women on the early feminist movement, who were forced underground in a dangerous game with the State.
This film will be produced by Faye Ward and Alison Owen, with Pathe Films and Film4 co-financing and Sarah Gavron directing.
Helena Bonham Carter stars in Marks & Spencer‘s fairytale-themed Christmas advertising campaign [alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley] as the wizard from The Wizard of Oz.
“I live with Tim Burton so for me to play the dismembered head of a wizard is a normal thing to do”, she said about this ad.
We will see her next as the Fairy Godmother in Disney’s live-action version of Cinderella.
Meanwhile, Carey Mulligan’s latest work, Inside Llewyn Davis, starring Oscar Isaac and Justin Timberlake, is already showing in the US and will be released in the UK on January 24.
