I’m the first one to admit that I love an awards show. It doesn’t even matter really what awards are being handed out, chances are I’ll be glued to the television watching in awe as the beautiful people receive some kind of trophy in recognition of their work or achievements.
So it should come as no real surprise that when a promo appeared on the Oscar’s Facebook page earlier today (December 20) for the 2014 Oscars, I may have done a little dance of joy. But I can assure you it paled in comparison to the dancing done by host, Ellen DeGeneres.
The promo is directed by Paul Feig of Bridesmaid’s fame and sees 250 tuxedo clad men and women dancing around the Warner Bros. backlot to the tune of “The Walker” by The Tantrums, led by a lip-synching Ellen.

The theme of next year’s Academy Awards is “Here we go” and Feig said that he wanted the message of the promo to be “that everyone gets to go to the Oscars this year.”
Ellen has commented on the promo too, saying, “Paul Feig has a reputation of being hilarious and nice and smart and I thought this was a great idea. I loved it. And I want to be in Bridesmaids 2, so two plus two equals great Oscar promo, Bridesmaids 2, cher-ching!”
The 86th Academy Award nominations will be announced on January 16, 2014 with the awards being handed out on Oscar Sunday, March 2, 2014.
