Johnny Carson has and will be always be seen as one of the greats when it comes to comedy. This could be why NBC has decided to bring him back, however not in the way you might think.
According to EW, NBC is planning to produce a mini-series based upon the biography Carson The Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait. The story will start with Carson’s Nebraskan childhood, and his 30 year stint as the host of The Tonight Show which came to an end back in 1992. NBC has said “The mini-series will also touch on his often secluded off-camera life and friendships made throughout his career as one of the most beloved TV personalities of all time.”
No casting announcements have been made about who will play the iconic chat show host, who passed away in 2005. Billy Zehme, who has written the biography, and John Davies will act as Executive Producers.
