Slight spoilers ahead if you haven’t been watching Game Of Thrones consistently since its first season!
Considering this idea has never occurred to me, I’m having a bit of a crisis here.
Sean Bean, aka the wonderful Eddard “Ned” Stark, who was tragically ripped from us in one of George R.R. Martin’s most devastating twists, recently sat down with Huffington Post Live and hinted at some potential paternity conflicts in Westeros.
Besides the Lannisters’ incestuous, downright nauseating situation, that is.
A fan asked whether or not Bean thought Ned was really Jon Snow’s father. According to her, there are some pretty convincing theories are out there, and they conclude that Ned is actually Jon’s uncle.
“Do you know the truth?” the interviewer asked.
“I don’t really; I’ve heard some rumors, but I’m afraid I can’t reveal them…” Bean replied with a laugh when the interviewer protested.
Of course, she gave it her best shot at changing his mind, but, sadly, he’s way too loyal. Even if Martin did axe him (an awful pun, I know, but one of you probably laughed).
“I’ve got my suspicions,” he added. “But, uh, I don’t know. I mean, I brought him up. I spent all these years looking after him and then someone turns around and says, ‘He’s not yours’…’Get out of here, Jon Snow!’”
Do any of you actually know these mysterious theories, or even have some of your own?
