Everyone knows the first few minutes of any movie are integral to the rest of the plot. Harry Potter is taken to the Dursleys, Carl and Ellie meet in their clubhouse, Buttercup realizes her love for Wesley—the list goes on and on.
And how horrible is it when you arrive after those first crucial minutes and don’t understand what’s going on for the rest of the movie? You spend the rest of the time pestering your fellow movie-goers asking, “Who’s that character?” or “Why is she doing that?” or “What’s going on?”
Here’s one movie you won’t have to worry about missing those first few minutes though—the long-awaited How to Train Your Dragon 2. According to Mary Sue, DreamWorks Animation was kind enough to release the first five minutes of the film, which allows all of the fashionably late movie attendees to catch up before their mad dash to the theatre.
The sequel picks up five years later, according to the Collider, as Hiccup (portrayed by Jay Baruchel) and Toothless uncover a “secret ice cave, hundreds of new wild dragons, and the mysterious Dragon Rider.”
How to Train Your Dragon 2 hits theaters on June 13.
