Hillary Duff is coming clean about her upcoming music – she’s intimidated. The 26 year old is gearing up for a LP release in 2014, and she wants the new material to be true to who she is reports Digital Spy.
The star told the Canadian newspaper Winnipeg Sun that releasing her new music is intimidating because of how the music industry has changed since her last music endeavors.
“I’m not comparing myself to (Miley Cyrus) but a lot of the things that go on in pop music are not me or who I am. Or not yet,” she said. “Who knows what I’m going to wake up tomorrow and feel like?”
In the interview, Duff credited Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus for staying true to who they are and piloting their own careers.
“Taylor Swift [is] honest with her lyrics and her stage show isn’t like some crazy thing that’s controversial, but I think what Miley Cyrus is doing is really cool and I think she’s being who she wants to be and that is important,” she said.
Duff is trying to go the same route. She wants her music to be reflective of who she is, which is apparently a mix of everything. She said that her music is “all over the place.” She describes her record as having “some EDM influence, some songs kind of like indie and earthy.” She added, “I don’t know, that sounds really weird. Some songs have really heavy piano. Some have like funky weird tinkering sounds.”
Actually, that sounds really cool. We haven’t heard any music from Duff since 2007, so we here at PopWrapped can’t wait for the impending release of her LP.
