Well known Hollywood publicist John Blanchette died on March 4th, 2014 of leukemia, according to the Santa Monica Mirror. He was 68 years old.
Blanchette had a rich history as a publicist and worked with stars such as Michael Jackson, Cary Grant, Delta Burke, Debbie Reynolds, Valerie Harper and Bob Hope. He worked with Zsa Zsa Gabor for over 30 years, as well.
Blanchette was the owner of Blanchette & Associates Public Relations, where he also took on the role of President.
In addition to his work as a publicist, he also worked on promotions for several big movies including Argo, Behind the Candelabra, L.A. Confidential, and Il Postino.
Before he went out on his own, John Blanchette worked in publicity at New World Pictures, Fox TV and at KCBS-TV Los Angeles. He was also a syndicate writer focusing on wine, travel, and food.
