Writers recently admitted at a TV Academy panel last week that Homeland’s creative writing team wanted to kill off Damian Lewis’ character during the first season.
Homeland producer Howard Gordon said: “We had sketched out this plan in the early parts of season two which called for Brody’s demise, which may have been premature, and they asked us to reconsider.”
Could you imagine Homeland with out Brody?
If Brody would have died during the first season, then what would have become of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes)
Thankfully, Showtime executives had a different idea about when Brody should meet his demise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon stated that Brody’s fate was a result of a ‘happy accident of having very good partners’.
