No longer the cheap, throw-away playthings of the past, today’s action figures are getting more detailed, larger, and more impressive than ever. Collectors are prizing these pricey deluxe collectibles as more art than toy. The company has produced a set of one-of-a-kind life-size figures that will be used as part of an Asian promotional exhibition tour for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The figures include Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Ultron, and a replica of the Iron Man Hulkbuster armor which stands at a towering 11 feet tall.
These comic book creations of cosmic proportions won’t be available for sale to the public, but there actually are life-size Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man statues on the market right now from other companies. In my opinion, however, those don’t look as good as the Hot Toys super-sized versions, plus they range in price from around $6,000 to $10,000 each!
