If the first film was right up your alley, a sequel to MGM/UA’s Hot Tub Time Machine is headed your way in the not-too-distant future.
According to Deadline, Paramount has stepped in as the sequel’s worldwide distributor.
The predecessor in 2010 earned a mere $50.3 domestically, but improved significantly in profits from digital and on-demand sales.
MGM will release the movie in select international countries this time around.
Some of the original cast members have already been confirmed for their return. Rob Corddry plays Lou, Craig Robinson plays Nick, and Clark Duke plays Jacob.
Director Steve Pink also returns to head the project, working with original screenplay writer Josh Heald.
This time, Nick and Jacob use the hot tub time machine to go into the past and help Lou, but they accidentally end up in the future. Now they have to make some changes in the future in order to repair the present—which, since they’re in the future, has become their past.
Watch the trio solve their time conundrum when the film hits theaters on December 25.
