Hugh Jackman is hoping that we all learn a lesson from the mistakes he made.
Jackman’s rep revealed to E! News that the actor has been diagnosed with skin cancer for the third time in a year. He has been treated for the condition through surgery and is currently on the mend.
The cancer, basal cell carcinoma, is curable when caught early, and Jackman’s first bout with the disease occurred in November, 2013. The cancer returned for a second time in May of 2014 and again, in October.
Jackman is in very good spirits and odds are certainly in his favor for a speedy and full recovery. His hope is that people will start wearing sunscreen when outdoors, and he urged his fans to not “be foolish like me.”
