Even someone as majestic as Hugh Jackman needs to remember to reapply sunscreen. The Wolverine star revealed today that he just had a spot of skin cancer removed from his nose. He showed off the news via his Instagram, posting a photo of his bandaged nose.
And I must admit, that Hugh can certainly pull off the I’ve-got-skin-cancer-but-am-still-sexy look pretty well!
Jackman wrote, “Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a (basal) cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!”
Ah, if only more husbands listened to their wives as well as Mr. Jackson listens to the invaluable Deborra-Lee Furness.
Jackman isn’t the only star to have brushes with skin cancer. Eric Dane, Bruce Jenner, Ewan McGregor and Anderson Cooper have also recently dealt with skin cancer.
Let’s hope Hugh’s skin cancer removal can create awareness for others to get checked out!
