The Luther star Idris Elba denies all rumors regarding him as the next James Bond replacing the current Daniel Craig. Rumors of Elba’s next big role have been floating around on the Internet for a while now and he seems to be a very popular choice.
After being asked about the role on ITV and being told that he would be the first “black James Bond”, Elba revealed his hatred for the phrase “Black Bond”. He told ITV’s Lorraine; “We don’t say ‘White Bond’, we just say ‘Bond’, so it suddenly becomes a black man and he’s a ‘Black Bond’. So I hate that phrase – and it’s a rumor that’s gotten out of control, basically – but that’s all it is. There’s no truth in it whatsoever.”
While Elba may not be the next 007, Daniel Craig is expected to reprise the role and the next Bond movie is expected on November 6th, 2015.
