If you are one of the numerous fans of period drama Downton Abbey. There is a good chance that you may have had daydreamed of what it would have felt like to be a member of the aristocratic Crawley family. Well as it turns out that daydream can be a reality – for a price.
Highclere Castle, the shooting location for the beloved tv series, is auctioning off a night’s stay at the famous manor. Additional perks would include cocktails, a full english breakfast, and most importantly you will be having a formal dinner with the Count and Countess of Carnarvon who owns the estate.
But this doesn’t come cheap, the bidding starts at $16,800! Seems a little bit steep, but it is being done for a good cause. Proceeds from the auction would go to charities that support British military veterans and victims of war.
Pretty sure the Earl of Grantham, Bates and Matthew Crawley would approve of that!
