Australian rapper/superstar Iggy Azalea has released a statement, announcing she has cancelled her planned performance at Pittsburgh Pride in the wake of receiving backlash from the community that she may be homophobic.
The backlash is coming from previous tweets (some years old) that some perceived as homophobic, and Iggy didn’t feel performing was the right thing to do.
The statement reads:

It’s been a rough few weeks for Azalea, who also announced that she had cancelled her entire US tour, after claiming the organizers couldn’t find opening acts to replace Nick Jonas and Tinashe who had to drop out when the tour was originally rescheduled.
Some happier news for Iggy though?
She recently announced her engagement with now fiance Nick Young.
On a personal note, would it not have made sense for Iggy to perform at the event and prove to the community that she was with them?
Rather then release a statement bailing on an event that is meant for good?
Just the thoughts of yours truly.
What do you guys think?
Should Iggy have performed as planned?
