It’s a day for movie release news… Or should I say, a day for the announcements that movies that already had release dates, have been changed.

Starting off with the Roland Emmerich sequel to Independence Day, Independence Day 2, that was originally scheduled for a 2015 release, has now been pushed back to July 1, 2016, almost 20 years to the day that the original film hit the screens.

Next up is Fantastic Four which has altered its date from March 2015 to June 19, 2015 which in turn pushes Assassin’s Creed from that date to August 7, 2015.

The Secret Service, the Matthew Vaughn directed spy drama has moved its date from late 2014 to March 6, 2015.

Melissa McCarthy’s Susan Cooper will now hit cinemas May 22, 2015 and Jason Reitman’s Labor Day will arrive January 31, 2014.

It is suspected that the changes in dates is a result of the Star Wars Episode VII release date being announces for December 8, 2015 instead of the traditional May release.
