In May, 2013, Barbara Walters announced that she would be leaving daytime talk show, The View, and now the co-creator and host is denying rumours that Katie Couric, who is a host of her own daytime talk show, is taking her place after her show, Katie, saw a drop in ratings.
Walters, who is 83, told the New York Daily News that ‘[Couric] is always welcome as a guest on The View and I was recently a guest on her show, but there is no truth to the rumour that she will be taking my place on The View.’
According to Digital Spy, Walters came to a decision after claiming that has been ‘participating now for a great number of years.’ The decision was inspired by her grandmother’s deathbed confession that she was still a virgin and, when questioned by her children about this, she replied that she never participated.
The co-host is set to leave the talk show in Summer 2014.
