We know that “Star Wars: Episode VII” is due to release in December of 2015, but unfortunately, that’s all we know! Director J.J. Abrams has remained very silent in regards to the highly-anticipated movie.

However, news has surfaced that a big name could be travelling to a galaxy far, far, away – Zac Efron!

Efron has admitted that he met with Disney to discuss a role in the film when being interviewed about his latest movie, That Awkward Moment, “I just went and met with them… So, I don’t know, it would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them! But, who knows?”

Other than this tidbit, the only cast-related news is that original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are all expected to be involved once again, in some form.

Other rumours swirling around include ones about Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio speaking with producers. However, it is believed their offers were turned down due to their busy schedules and conflicts with other projects.

This potential casting could cause controversy among dedicated Star Wars fans but honestly, it would be a huge opportunity for Zac to play a role in a franchise he loves and one that is so different from his usual roles.
