Just when you thought the Obama’s couldn’t get any more modern and down-to-earth…they go and quote Mean Girls.
In a photo posted on the White House’s Instagram, the family dog, Bo Obama, is seen in the Oval Office with a tennis ball in her mouth. The caption reads: “Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen” – A clear reference to the famous quote from Regina George (played by Rachel McAdams), HBIC from the 2004 hit film.
Followers of the White House Instagram seemed amused by the photo, one user saying “Someone at The White House has a sense of humor!” The photo collected over 9000 likes in the first two hours after being posted and has since received over 15000, becoming the most liked photo on their Instagram.
Mean Girls is a great film and all, but let’s just hope quoting the likes of Regina George and company stays at home. I mean, you don’t want President Obama falling out with another nation by yelling, “You can’t sit with us!”
