Jada Pinkett Smith To Reprise Her Role As Fish Mooney In ‘Gotham’

You can’t keep a good woman like Jada Pinkett Smith down, even if she has been thrown off the roof. The evildoer is returning to the new season of Gotham!

You can’t keep a good woman like Jada Pinkett Smith down, even if she has been thrown off the roof…

Last time we saw Jada Pinkett Smith’s , Fish Mooney in Gotham, she was in a tussle with her former umbrella carrier, Cobblepot a.k.a Penguin. Her former employee got the best of her, and he winds up throwing her off the roof.

Most of us presumed that this would be the end of the nefarious villain, but it seems that is not quite the case. After all Gotham Executive Producer Bruno Heller did say “not to assume anything in a town like Gotham,”.

And then of course there is the fact that Fish Mooney is an original character created for the television series and portrayed by Jada Pinkett Smith. Why wouldn’t you want to bring her back, especially since the series has firmly established her as a survivor.

On January 29th Gotham officially announced the return of Fish Mooney for a multi-episode arc for the second half of season two, which has been aptly subtitled “Wrath of Villains.” It doesn’t take a genius to know which person Fish Mooney will be setting her sites on. She does have a score to settle, after all…

But Fish Mooney won’t be the only villain rampaging around Gotham. She will be joined by new characters that comic book fans will remember all too well from Batman lore.

Iconic villain Mr.Freeze, who was last portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenneger in the much lambasted Batman And Robin, will be setting his cold stare at the crime ridden city. Let us hope that they handle this version of the chilling evildoer better than the movie ever did.

It also appears as though Mad Hatter and Clay Face are also making their debut, as stated by show producer John Stephen at Wondercon last April. “Clayface and Mad Hatter are both villains we’re going to bring in (as well). They both have great backstories and great personalities. Clayface especially is a character I want to (explore the origin of),” Stephen said.

Regardless of the sea of evil-doers, we’re sure that Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney will continue her streak of crime unhindered.

Gotham returns on February 29, 8 pm on Fox.
