Jamie Foxx To Star In Scorsese-Directed Mike Tyson Biopic

After lots of speculation, Jamie Foxx confirmed that he will be starring in Paramount’s upcoming Mike Tyson Biopic, directed by Martin Scorsese.

It’s been common knowledge that a Mike Tyson biopic has been in the works for at least a year now. With Jamie Foxx being linked to the upcoming project for a while now, the actor has now gone and confirmed his involvement, while he also spilled the beans about having an iconic director on board.

Jamie Foxx will indeed be starring as the legendary boxer in Paramount’s forthcoming film, which just got a lot more promising thanks to the director’s name. Apparently, the actor couldn’t hold back and revealed that Martin Scorsese will be the one directing the film. In his own words:

“I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson. So I’m going to do the Mike Tyson story. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since Raging Bull.”

There is no denying that the upcoming biopic will be an interesting movie to watch, to say the least. After all, Mike Tyson has had both glorious ups and really dark downs, enough for a good story to be put together. Now with Jamie Foxx in front of the camera and Martin Scorsese on the director’s chair, this marks as a film no one should miss. The potential use of Benjamin Button-like technology is also being discussed, since it would allow Foxx to portray Iron Mike in different eras of his life.
