Her career began back in 1978 with the smash horror hit that spawned a franchise; Halloween. Now Jamie Lee Curtis is gearing up to return to the genre she came from.

ABC Family is expected to order a pilot for a brand new horror show by writer Jeff Dixon titled, The Final Girls. Jamie Lee Curtis will star on the show, which is said to be about a group of girls brought together by an unusual older lady (Curtis) after they overcome individual horror stories. The girls are said to “channel the the stress and scars of their experiences”, to form a “greater good” as a group.

It is thought that Steve Miner will direct and executive produce the upcoming pilot if all goes well. ABC have yet to announce whether the show will in fact go to pilot, though insiders are saying the project has been put on the “fast track”.

Miner is a popular choice for directing the new horror show, having fronted the second and third installments of the horrific movie franchise, Friday The 13. He also directed Curtis in the 1992 classic film, Forever Young. Miner’s work is fairly prevalent at ABC Family at the moment, where he has been busy directing many of their new pilots, as well as multiple episodes of Make It Or Break It and Switched At Birth.

We cannot wait to have Jamie Lee Curtis back on our screens in a regular role so we’re excited to see this pilot if and when it comes to light. She did an amazing job guest starring on New Girl and NCIS recently so we have high hopes for her performance!
