“It’s gonna be awful,” is all Jane Lynch could start with in a recent interview with E! News about the upcoming Glee episode that will be a tribute to the late Cory Monteith. She went on to say, “It’s gonna be terrible. It has to be done but it’s gonna be awful. We haven’t started yet and I think we start on Friday,” said Lynch. “I haven’t seen the script yet.” The episode is reportedly expected to start production on this episode soon.

The episode is expected to pay tribute to both the character Finn and Monteith, and will air as the third episode of the new upcoming season that is set to premiere on September 26. The first two episodes will be the previously announced Beatles tributes. “It would be difficult to come out of the gate right away and then recover” from a memorial tribute”, FOX chairman Kevin Reilly commented during the TCA Summer Press Tour. The Monteith tribute episode will be accompanied by public service announcements afterwards to be taped by the cast.

Today Jane Lynch tweeted: Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode. Most beautiful thing. Thank you, @MrRPMurphy @BFalchuk Ian Brennan.”

The tribute episode will air October 10 on FOX, check your local listings.
