Jason Derulo Pulls A 180 With New Single, ‘Want To Want Me’

Before anyone realised his previous era was over, Jason Derulo is back with a brand-new single, “Want To Want Me”, and it’s different from his recent tunes.

It seems like yesterday that Jason Derulo was promoting the international and US versions of his latest studio album, Tattoos and Talk Dirty. However, the singer has already moved forward to the release of a brand-new single, which is titled “Want To Want Me” and sounds nothing like his previous tunes.

If you expected Jason Derulo to come back and dominate the dancefloor with another “Talk Dirty” or “Wiggle”, this one might not be your cup of tea. “Want To Want Me” serves as a crystal-clear, vintage-pop tune, with a production full of synths alongside the regular funky riffs and keys. Despite the sudden change of sound, the track is not any less catchy or radio-friendly than its predecessors. The crooner makes sure to provide the melody with some soft vocals and manages to keep everything perfectly on point with his falsetto. Cheerful and light-hearted, the tune is an old-school kind of lovesong that could very well end up being your latest jam.

“Want To Want Me” serves as the first offering to be lifted from the singer’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled, fourth studio album. Most probably, it will also be the lead single of the record. With a music video already shot and scheduled to premiere soon, take a listen to the track below.
