Most people likely know Jayma Mays as Glee counselor Emma Pillsbury; and, most recently as Debbie Miller on CBS’ The Millers. But avid fans of How I Met Your Mother simply know her as Coat Check Girl, one of Ted Mosby’s (Josh Radnor) many women.
HIMYM is in its final season and many past characters are making their way back to the hit CBS comedy. It may be a possibility for Mays’ character to make an appearance, but for now, nothing is set in stone.
We first met Coat Check Girl in Season 1 of the series. She made a small connection with Ted at a club where the two started a conversation about things that are supposed to be fun. He even joined her in the coat check room! Coat Check Girl then made another short appearance last season.
I’m not sure how Coat Check Girl would appear in this final season, but Mays is open to coming back. “I would love to go back, but I haven’t been told that I’m coming back as of yet,” Mays told TV Line.
She was also down to play the mother of Ted’s children. “I have had people tell me, ‘You’re the mom, you’re the mom on that show!’ I’m like ‘OK, all right, let’s do this’!” For those who aren’t caught up and believed Coat Check Girl may have been the mother, spoiler alert: she isn’t.
Maybe “Coat Check Girl” will be checking coats in at the wedding. One can only hope.
