Jennifer Hudson, Harry Connick Jr., and Gloria Estefan will have the honor of performing at Pope Francis’ mass at Madison Square Garden this month.

It is a venue well known for hosting the biggest stars of the music world, and it is a stage that is all-too-familiar for seasoned performers like Jennifer Hudson and Harry Connick Jr., but when these two are set to perform again at the iconic Madison Square Garden, they will be opening for a different kind of public figure.

And it is for no less than Pope Francis himself, the spiritual leader of more than a billion Catholics worldwide, who is set to officiate mass at the famous venue on Sept. 25.

The Archdiocese of New York made the announcement last Monday,

and it seems that there will be more stars involved with the program, which has been given the title “A Journey in Faith.”

Aside from Jennifer Hudson and Harry Connick Jr.,

Latin music superstar Gloria Estefan is set to hit the stage, and joining them will be Norm Lewis (known for Broadway musical The Phantom of the Opera), as well as singer James “D-Train” Williams, and actors Kelli O’Hara and Martin Sheen.

The Mass is set to begin at 6:30 pm but, due to security concerns , those who wish to attend have been asked to come at 2 pm, but it is not exactly a long wait, since the show is scheduled to begin at 3 pm.
