Jennifer Lawrence Charts In Top 20 In The U.K. And Australia

Jennifer Lawrence’s singing of “The Hanging Tree” in the latest of The Hunger Games series got her in the top 20 of British and Australian charts.

Jennifer Lawrence recently saw the latest installment of the Hunger Games film, Mockingjay – Part 1, becoming a box office success. If you’ve already watched the movie, you can hear her character, Katniss Everdeen, singing “The Hanging Tree” and that recording has gotten her in the Top 20 of British and Australian music charts.

The track with the actress’ vocals might not be included in the soundtrack of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, but that hasn’t quite stopped it from making its way on the charts. At this point, it has made its debut on #14 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart and #12 on the ARIA’s Australian Top 50 Singles Chart. Not bad for someone who is not even a singer and for a song that hasn’t even received a proper release? The theaters are full of audiences for the film though, so it seems minimum promotion alone and not in the music market was enough for it to make an impact.

Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Katniss, is heard singing the track in the latest installment of the Hunger Games film series. For the actual tune, she is found joining her forces with James Newton Howard. “The Hanging Tree” was penned by Suzanne Collins, along with Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz of the Lumineers.
