Jensen Ackles Rocks A Cover Of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man

The internet almost came crashing down when a video of Supernatural’s own Jensen Ackles performed a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” at VanCon.

The Supernatural fandom is unique in its ability to lose their stuff over just about anything. And I am no exception. The internet almost came crashing down when a video of Supernatural‘s own Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) performed a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s rock anthem Simple Man (the tune was also used in Season 5 Episode 3, Free to be You and Me) at this past weekend’s weekend at VanCon — a Supernatural convention in Vancouver, Canada.

Jensen was joined on stage by Supernatural co-stars, Mark Sheppard on drums, Rob Benedict on Guitar, Richard Speight on Bass along with a few member’s of Benedict’s band, Louden Swain.

Jensen’s classic rock covers during Supernatural conventions is not a new thing. Videos of Jensen covering everything from Sister Christian, to Carry on My Wayward Son to another Skynyrd tune you may be familiar with, Sweet Home Alabama also took the internet by storm. But the length, quality, and of course accompanying musicians made this particular performance stand above the others that have surfaced in the past year.

So sit back, relax your weary head, turn up your volume and enjoy Jensen in all his rocking glory. I know we still have a long way to go until Hellatus finally comes to an end. But hopefully this will help you survive the home stretch.

You’re welcome.

Hellatus will finally come to an end when Supernatural ‘s Season 11 premieres on October 7th, 2015 at 9 PM on The CW.
