June 7th 2015, will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the release of The Goonies and fans worldwide recently got a great bit of news: not only is a sequel to the cult classic definitely in the works, but Goonies director Richard Donner was hoping to bring back the entire original cast.
Corey Feldman, who played Clark “Mouth” Devereaux in the film, took to his twitter account and announced to fans that he was “skeptical” about the possibility of a Goonies 2. The actor also said that it couldn’t be done without a “perfect script”.

“If they write it, I will come.” He added. And if there is any doubt that he himself is excited about the possible upcoming sequel, just check his twitter. Most of his recent tweets have involved retweets and pictures from fans regarding the cult classic and it’s impending sequel.

Even if the sequel doesn’t end up happening, there are sure to be tons of cast meet-ups and hangouts when the film turns 30, next June.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll even get a “Truffle Shuffle” from Jeff Cohen. That’s something this Goonies fan would definitely pay to see.
