Great news!!
British comedian John Oliver made waves when he appeared on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” as the news correspondent, and now he’s readying himself for his very own spotlight.
The funny man will debut his brand new series “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” on HBO April 27th.
The 30 minute program will air Sunday nights, and be a satirical look at the news as well as current events and politics.
Oliver joined Jon Stewart back in 2006, and has since taken home 3 Emmy’s alongside the host of “The Daily Show” with writing credits.
HBO delivered the offer to Oliver a few months after he filled in for Stewart in the summer of 2013. Stewart was currently away directing and starring in “Rosewater.”
