John Wick To Join The World Of Video Games

As last year’s ‘John Wick’ was expected to create a franchise, there is now a first-person shooter virtual reality game in development.

Ever since Lionsgate released John Wick to the world, it was pretty obvious that there was going to be a franchise out of this film. Now, other than a bunch of sequels, it turns out the newcoming character will be joining the world of video games pretty soon.

As it seems, Lionsgate will team up with video game specialists Starbreeze, WEVR and Grab, to introduce John Wick to the world of video gaming. The game itself is expected to be introduced through a fully immersive VR experience, before it gets further development and ends up available on a bunch of VR platforms. The Continental Hotel is set to be the basis of it all, while the actual storyline could be drawing from both the first film and its as-yet-unreleased sequel. With the movie producers in hand, the first-person shooter might just end up being a badass VR experience.

The HTC Vive World Tour will give European and American gamers a first peek at the upcoming John Wick game, as promotional gameplay will be available at selected stops. For the time being, next year’s Spring seems to be the expected release date for the full game. Fans of the well-known Payday will also have the pleasure to make use of the film’s characters, as John Wick will be joining the fan-favorite as well.
