It’s hard to believe, but it’s been more than a decade since Joanna Noëlle Blagden Levesque, best known to you and I as pop-star JoJo burst onto the scene as fresh-faced thirteen year old with “Leave, Get Out.” (wow do I feel old…).
Now, having just released her impressive tringle of singles, “Say Love,” “Save My Soul,”and “When Love Hurts”, MTV thought it would be fun to take her on a trip down memory lane by sitting her down and making her watch her debut video, the original of which is below.
Not surprisingly, the singer had some interesting thoughts and memories to offer up as she reminisced over the song that launched her career. They included:
“It’s embarrassing seeing your thirteen year old self, period.”
“My little chipmunk voice…”
“I was wearing chicken cutlets in my bra…”
“The most serious thirteen year old ever…”
And as for what her choreographer on the video used to call her? What else but:
“Little muffin.”
Check out MTV’s video below and reminisce with us in the comments by adding your own memories of the song (I for one used to make up routines to it and act all ‘little miss attitude’!).
