Jon Hamm To Spoof “Mad Men” Role On “SpongeBob SquarePants”

If you’re missing Don Draper, you may find your fix in the new Jon Hamm-voiced character on SpongeBob SquarePants: Don Grouper.

With Mad Men no longer on the air, it would seem that we’ve seen the last of Don Draper. However, we have the next best thing to look forward to: Jon Hamm’s newest character, Don Grouper. Yes, he’s an actual grouper. Which makes sense, because the character will be featured on SpongeBob SquarePants.

According to People Magazine, Don Grouper is the fish Mr. Krabs seeks the help of when launching a line of frozen Krabby Patties. Nickelodeon describes Grouper as “a charismatic head ad executive of the ad agency Grouper, Goby & Koi.” The network goes on to say that “When Don [Grouper]’s in the room, everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey.”

I know. The hit Nickelodeon show seems like the last place you’d expect to spoof Mad Men. Regardless of whether or not the joke will go over the young audience’s heads, the episode featuring Hamm is set to air sometime next year, and I am looking forward to it!

What do you think about Hamm’s fishy turn? Will you tune in?
