The upcoming film X-Men Apocalypse has added another hero to the team, enlisting Jubliee for the next installment to the beloved franchise. Bryan Singer, director of the film, announced via Twitter that the character will have a role in Apocalypse, and will be played by newcomer Lana Condor. Jubliee (Jubilation Lee) is a Chinese-American mutant with the ability to blast energy plasmoids from her hands who also has a sidekick-like relationship with Wolverine.
This will make a first main appearance for Jubilee in the X-men franchise after only appearing in a background capacity for the original X-Men trilogy and was considered to appear in Days Of Future Past. In the character’s origin story, she is a orphaned mallrat who is rescued by a team that includes Storm and Rogue. With the timeline of the films in seems implausible that Rogue will make an appearance without completely disregarding the ending of Days of Future Past.
It’s exciting to see the underutilized heroine join the ranks of the X-Men, and the adventures that await the team in the fight against Apocalypse!
