Congratulations, cheeseheads!
In one of the greatest moves possibly in America’s Dairyland’s entire history as a state, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ruled same-sex marriages legal in Wisconsin. Crabb’s ruling makes Wisconsin the 27th state where a judge has approved of gay marriages. The Cheese State joins 11 other states that have actually maintained their allowance of same-sex marriages, including, most recently, Illinois.
This history-making decision was founded in Madison at the state’s U.S. District Court. Marriage certificates for same-sex couples are reportedly being issued as we speak, their issuance having come into effect immediately following Judge Crabb’s epic ruling earlier today.
Considering where Wisconsin was even just a year or two ago with people who could’ve eventually became our president, we’d say that they’ve made some IMMENSE steps in the right direction today. Kudos to Judge Crabb for standing on the right side of history today and making thousands of Wisconsinites proud!
