After getting a water bottle thrown at him during his Saturday (November 2) gig in Sao Paulo, Justin Bieber called it quits and stormed off the stage, leaving a saddened crowd behind.
While singing the penultimate song in his setlist “Boyfriend,” Bieber had his microphone knocked out of his hand by a water bottle, thrown at him by an attendee. After this, he just glanced at the crowd and, in a “few seconds of anger and immaturity,” walked off the stage.
Fans thought he would come back, and waited for a good thirty minutes. They even sang what would have been the last song from the evening, “Baby,” by themselves.
Felipe Gladiador from Brazilian website G7 called it “a night of fun [that was] overshadowed.”
“Once again the music was left to one side and the ego took over, his blood boiled and the rebellious teenager wiped out the talented singer.”
No statement has been issued by Bieber or his crew, but he did tweet that he had enjoyed the show from the following night in Rio. “That was crazy!! Thank u rio!! Thank u brazil! Sold out stadium tonight! Amazing crowd. Hyped. Blessed. Thank u.”
