Yesterday (Jan. 28), Justin Bieber filmed an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to help celebrate her birthday, but last night, the pop star got more serious.

Justin released a very personal video, speaking directly to his fans (as well as the haters) about how nervous he was to appear on the show. He doesn’t want people to think he’s arrogant or conceited, and wants everyone to know he’s really trying to shake the bad boy image.

Justin sounded near tears at a few points in the video, and also said he “wants to make the best impression on people.”
