The results are in and the nominees for the UK Festival Awards 2013 have been announced. Voting for this annual award opened today (October 2). This award show “will honor the best of the UK festival season”.
There are many categories a performer can be nominated for. They range from ‘The Grass Roots Festival Award’ to ‘Best Family Festival’ to ‘Best Major Festival.

A few of the notable nominees this year are Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Sir Elton John, The Rolling Stones, and Beyoncé. New bands, such as 1975, Haim, and Azealia Banks will also be nominated in the category ‘Best Breakthrough Act’. Furthermore, Camp Bestival, RockNess and Secret Garden Party have also gotten a nod. Who will win? We will just have to wait and see!
What are both Justin Timberlake who by now is a veteran in music, and The Rolling Stones nominated for? They will be competing for ‘Best Headline Performance’. The competition is steep, though! Beyoncé is also nominated for this award.
Voting for the awards will last from now (October 2nd) and until either the end of November or first of December.
Why? On December 2, 2013 the winners will be announced at a ceremony. You might wonder where this jubilee will be. It shall be hosted at London’s Roundhouse.
