Justin Timberlake’s had his feelings hurt by “dickhead’” critics and basically, he’s not having it.
The singer-actor responded to critics calling for him to “quit acting” in a way that might seem bratty, but is really only human. Celebrity or not, there’s only so much someone in the public eye can take before taking pot-shots of their own.
Timberlake, in an interview with GQ magazine, addressed Variety’s brutal assessment of his new movie Runner, Runner titled “Why Justin Timberlake Should Stop Acting” and Billboard’s slaughtering of his album 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2. He admitted that he wasn’t “cut out for” the “double whammy” criticism, questioning where all the “vitriol” even came from.
Granted Runner Runner isn’t doing very well both critically and at the box office, Timberlake who’s aware of the facts, countered with “the movie didn’t do well at the box office, so I should quit? Hold on a second. If I was somebody else, you wouldn’t have said that.” Before going on to call the publications “trade magazines” whose opinions don’t count and adding on that none of them could be able to act.
Oh Justin, as long as you got your suit and tie (and talent and money and cars and all the opportunities you’ve been blessed with) you should be alright, let them haters hate.
