For the role of Neil Bogart in the upcoming biopic Spinning Gold, Justin Timberlake will be re-visiting everything he’s learned about the Spanish language.
Speaking to WENN about portraying the bi-lingual head of Casablanca Records, Justin said, “I can barely speak English but I do have a pretty good ear, so I’m good at mimicking things that are told to me in Spanish. If it was an all-Spanish speaking movie I feel it would be my responsibility to learn the language, but, as it turned out I play a guy from Princeton who has to learn a little Spanish. I know a little bit from traveling.”
The film is still currently in development, but Timberlake cannot wait to start filming this movie. “We have a great screenplay for it and I can only imagine when we get the right director on it that’s it’s gonna get even better. It’s a really exciting project but we’re not gonna rush it, but I hope it comes together soon because I’d like to make that movie soon. I think it’s a great story.”
Justin launched the idea at a party at 2013 Cannes Film Festival, where he was joined by Tim Bogart, Neil’s son, who is a writer and producer.
Neil Bogart is the main responsible for launching the careers of Gladys Knight, Bill Withers, Donna Summer, The Village People and KISS.
