In Hollywood, no one’s ego can match that of Kanye West’s. In a not so shocking move, it was reported by the BBC that West’s next album would be titled “I am God.” How humble of you, Kanye. I don’t think knocking up Kim Kardashian and throwing shade at Justin Timberlake gives you God status, but whatever floats your boat.
However it was just a miscommunication. The LP is still untitled but there will be a single with the title “I Am A God.” A source close the rapper reported to HuffPost “We would never be so presumptuous or sacrilegious to call ourselves the Supreme Being.” To further distance West from controversy collaborator, Malik Yusuf took to the all-powerful twitter to explain “its “I am(A) GOD” FAMO #psalms 82.”
This isn’t the first time that Kanye has referenced his faith. In 2005, West released his single ‘Jesus Walks’ in which he proudly puts his faith on display. This was followed by his January 2006 Rolling Stone cover where he felt it necessary to wear a crown of thrones like Jesus donned during the crucifixion.
There has been no official word from Kanye or his camp concerning the matter. But something tells me all this hype is exactly what they wanted. There is no such thing as bad press!
