Kate Beckinsale’s Selene Will Be Back For ‘Underworld 5’

Even though the upcoming ‘Underworld’ film was said to be a reboot, it seems to be more of a sequel, as Kate Beckinsale has signed to reprise her role.

For a while now, the Underworld franchise was thought to move into a reboot of the series with its next installment. However, it seems that Kate Beckinsale has already signed to reprise her role, so that instantly makes the upcoming film more of a sequel.

According to new information, Kate Beckinsale will be bringing her best Selene back in Underworld 5. Therefore, it’s only normal that the film won’t be a reboot. Even though the plot is still rather unknown, the film is said to revolve around “a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races”. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how that goes, but the only important thing right now is that Selene is not gone! Despite previous statements, Theo James is also on board as David, so everything is right in place.

The upcoming, fifth installment of the Underworld film series is expected to begin shooting this coming October in Prague. Anna Foerster (Outlander) will be directing, taking from a script by Cory Goodman. The movie is set to be a follow-up to 2012′s Underworld: Awakening. Stay tuned for more information as we go.
