Katharine McPhee Drops New Single “Lick My Lips”

After a 5-year hiatus from music, Katharine McPhee has returned with a brand-new single, “Lick My Lips”, and its accompanying music video is now out.

It’s been a while since Katharine McPhee promoted her music career, but the songstress is now preparing to make a comeback. After focusing on acting for a while, she has now returned with a brand-new single, titled “Lick My Lips”, and it’s got a music video to go by.

The Isa Machine-penned track serves as a feel-good, urban-pop kind of bop. It’s all very light-hearted and has some old-school vibes, while Katharine McPhee provides the production with some stellar vocals. It seems oh-so-joyful and serves as an ode to her beloved one, the guy that makes her lick her lips. It doesn’t really sound like an instant hit, but it’s more of a grower. The accompanying music video fits the mood of the track, as it finds the songstress serving some pin-up realness.

Katharine McPhee released “Lick My Lips” as the very first sample and lead single from her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled third studio album. The record will be a follow-up to 2010′s Unbroken and Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You, and is set to be released later this year. The songstress won’t give up her acting career to focus on music, as she’s currently starring CBS’ Scorpion.

Take a look at the Diane Martel-directed music video for “Lick My Lips” below.
