Leviticus 19:18: “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” I suppose some Kentucky Christians skipped over this verse in Bible study.

In a decidedly uncharitable move, Kentucky churches withheld $7 million in funding to Sunrise Children’s Services. Know why? Because Sunrise PROPOSED (not implemented; proposed) terminating their discriminatory anti-gay employment policy.

Before you pop the champagne, however, it behooves us to inform you that the only reason Sunrise even considered this move was the threat of the loss of government funding; which comprises 85 percent of the organization’s budget. They decided that they’d take the loss however, and kept their bigoted and hate-filled policy instated, and the man who dared propose such a malicious and evil act has now resigned (Sunrise’s Director, Bill Smithwick).

Even though the policy is in place and the evil homosexual ally (or bully, as the absurd Michele Bachmann would like you to believe) has resigned, Kentucky churches STILL cut their donations. But, now that Sunrise is back on track (IE: happy as a pig in slop with their hate rhetoric), The Kentucky Baptist Convention (doesn’t that sound like a ball of joy?) will spark fundraising efforts once more.

Paul Chitwood, Executive Direction at Kentucky Baptist Convention, told WDRB that, “Now that our churches have confidence in the leadership of Sunrise and the direction of Sunrise, we’ll give them the opportunity to re-invest in this ministry to children.”

Right. Because obviously, making sure that kids are NEVER EVER, EVER exposed to homosexual propaganda is far more significant than ensuring that they are safe and nourished and cultivating their minds, imaginations and physical activity. Glad we’ve got our priorities straight there, Christians.
