Remember the Double Down sandwich? You know, KFC’s morally reprehensible yet undeniably delicious bacon and cheese sandwich that used pieces of fried chicken as buns rather than bread? KFC has launched the next evolution of this meal, and it’s as ridiculous as you’d expect.
It’s a hot dog, covered in cheese sauce and wrapped in a bun made of fried chicken.
This is real. This is the world we live in.
The KFC “Double Down Dog” is currently available only in the Philippines, and each store only carries a supply of 50 of the sandwiches. They went on sale on today (Jan. 26), and according to the official Twitter account of KFC Philippines, most locations are already sold out:
The all new KFC Double Down Dog have been sold out! Try again tomorrow at these branches: http://t.co/7T7j1OgEfT http://t.co/lmLoT777Xa

Reactions on social media have been mixed, with some people unable to contain their excitement, while others reacted basically exactly how you would expect them to:
Y’all need to be arrested, @kfc. This is a crime against humanity.pic.twitter.com/C4uS2qqPyY

All I know, readers, is that as a fan of the original Double Down, I am waiting with baited breath for this to reach American stores so I too can indulge in this horrifying yet undoubtedly tasty heart-attack-waiting-to-happen.
