I Know What You Did Last Summer Gets Reboot Treatment

The 90’s horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer will return to theaters, however not as a sequel or prequel, but is getting rebooted. The original film featured Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prince Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillipe as a group of teenagers that mistakenly assumed they killed a man and attempted a cover-up, with a killer coming back to remind them of the traumatic night.

The reboot will be written and produced by Oculus director, Mike Flanagan and Deadline reports that the film will likely be made on a smaller budget and will quickly hit theaters in early 2016. With the first movie earning 125 million, do you think a reboot can capture the essence of the original?
