Lady Gaga Announces ‘Chromatica’ Album: Details and Release Date

Lady Gaga has announced her sixth studio album, “Chromatica” releasing April 10, 2020.

The “Monster” girl Lady Gaga has confirmed the release date of her sixth studio album titled Chromatica. Earlier today, Lady Gaga took to her Twitter and Instagram handles to reveal that her Chromatica will be released worldwide on April 10 this year and that the fans can now initiate a pre-order for the album.

Though the official cover of the album is yet to be released by Lady Gaga, she did release a cover on her social media handles, urging fans to stay tuned for the official unveiling of the album cover.

Chromatica Is All About Inclusivity

Chromatica seems to be derived from the word “Chromatic,” which means something derived from colors. It also means ascending and descending by semitones in terms of music. When asked, Gaga stated that “[Chromatica is] about colors and all the different colors and also music is made of a chromatic scale, you know? So it’s all the colors, all the sounds, you know, so we, we’re talking about inclusivity and life and also a lot of what we see around us…”.

The album rumors first made news when Gaga’s song “Stupid Love” was leaked in January this year. She then released the song officially a few days ago on February 28 as the lead single of her album Chromatica. The album, which would be her first album stint at music since her work on A Star Is Born (2018) soundtrack, will be executive produced by BloodPop. BloodPop has previously produced all the songs on Gaga’s last studio album Joanne (2016).

A Long-Awaited Return

After Joanne, Gaga got immensely involved in acting projects. Her work on the 2015 horror series American Horror Story: Hotel was met with critical acclaim and earned her Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Movie. It was followed by Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born in which she co-starred and performed songs as well. Her song “Shallow” earned her first Academy Award in the Best Original Song category.

It seems Chromatica is about inclusivity, which means people of all colors and ethnicities accepted without war and conflicts. The themes can be seen in the video of “Stupid Love,” where Gaga, all dressed in pink with her faction, tries to bring peace to the desert, filling it with colors. Chromatica, which will have 16 songs, is seemingly going to address these themes in all its songs. Moreover, we saw in the first song from the album displays a blend of dance, electronic hip-hop, and disco. The other song videos may follow the path as well.

Beyond Chromatica, Lady Gaga is to continue her acting stint with Ridley Scott’s upcoming film. She’ll play Patrizia Reggiani, who plotted to murder her husband Maurizio Gucci, former head of Gucci fashion house.

Stay Tuned for Chromatica, which releases for sale on April 10, 2020. Until then, pre-order the album and be the first one to listen to it.
