Following the leak of “Applause”, her debut single from ARTPOP, Lady Gaga has slammed blogger criticism.
She has taken to Twitter, asking her fans: “Don’t focus on ANY blogger criticism… Trust the artist bloggers are not critics. The fans + music scholars are the best critics because they know the artist intimately. #STOPHarassingTheArtist we are here to entertain you.”
Gaga also spoke out about fan wars, claiming she “repects all fanbases 4 their passion #BeTheChange.”
She retweeted other fan war criticism, such as one fans tweet: “All fandoms have something in common; we’re all hardcore fans and we should respect one for another.”
Mother Monster’s track was not the only one to be leaked at the weekend. Katy Perry’s track “Roar” also made appearances on the internet.
“Applause” was released a week early due to these “high/low quality leaks.”
