If you couldn’t get enough of Alex and Piper in the first season of Netflix’s original series Orange Is The New Black, then you’re in luck! The show’s creator, Jenji Kohan, revealed Alex Vause’s (Laura Prepon’s) return for “most” of season 2 in an interview with US Weekly.
“Yes, yes she’s coming back,” he said. “Not the whole season, but…you’ll see her for most of it.”
Based on the memoir by Piper Kerman and adapted by Kohan (Weeds), Orange Is The New Black follows a young bisexual woman after she is arrested and imprisoned for carrying drug money for her girlfriend, who just happens to be an influential figure in a drug cartel. Netflix finalized the contract for a second season before the first season even hit the internet.
Fans can also expect more from the show, as focus shifts from Piper. We’ll be seeing more of the other characters and how they interact with the prison, and not just from Piper’s point of view.
“It’s becoming much more of an ensemble,” Kohan said. “As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody’s journey.”
